What is micro needling?
Micro needling uses tiny needles to pierce the skin which stimulates skin's natural ability to heal itself and ultimately produces collagen and elastin. The healing process begins almost immediately and results in a thicker dermal layer, and softened wrinkles and scars.
How does it work?
First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed. Then, a numbing cream is applied for 30 to 45 minutes prior to the procedure. Once the skin is numb, a peptide gel is liberally applied, which helps the
needles glide across the skin.
The peptide gel contains
antioxidants which nourish the skin.
The needles can be adjusted for
thicker skin (cheeks, chin) and
thinner skin (forehead and around
eyes and lips).
The procedure takes about 30 minutes.
The needles are moving inside the pen in a very rapid motion as they move across the face. You'll likely look as if you have a sunburn after treatment, but the redness generally fades within 24 hours. After treatment, we recommend a gentle cleanser for several days. It's also best to stop all acid-containing products for at least a week.
What does Micro Needling do?
Micro Needling is great for shrinking pore size, to even out skin's texture and tone, diminish fine wrinkles, and minimize surface acne scarring.
When will I see results?
Many patients will notice healthier looking skin immediately. However, the natural repair process will continue over several weeks.
